Stratosphere: A Fast Virtual Circuit Switch Layer for Data Center Network

The hierarchical structure of the data center network is more and unsuitable for increasing east-west traffic from virtual machines. Reconfigurable circuit switching utilized to reduce regional hotspots, which causes problem routing oscillation. We propose a stratospheric center, combines Tor switches. It acts as supplement tropospheric transmission across alleviate global hotspots. link VCS (Virtual Circuit Switching) divided into channels by time division, packets are sliced cells be transmitted at specific slot. Via direct connection relaying modules, could support not only sharing uplinks between switches but also dynamical forwarding. Experiments parameter servers demonstrate that it accelerates data, provide fast path, especially traffic.
